Oh, so this works! How wonderful! I assume this is this "internet" I've been hearing so much about? This is so exciting! I've wanted to see how it worked, but apparently the specifics are a bit beyond me. Some sort of magical/alchemical thing.

I think introductions are in order. My name is Nayan. Some of you may have heard of me, some of you may not. If you haven't, well, you'll certainly be seeing a lot more of me.

Now... who are all of you? Most of you would be players, I'm assuming, yes?

I suppose I could address you by the name of your creation if you insist, but I think he might get a little offended once he wakes up.

Just call me REM, or something. Ferrus is fine, too, I guess, but I'm not sure how he'd react to that, either.

I think "REM" might be worse. Don't you think you could give me something that sounds more like a name?

Well, I can honestly say that if it were me, I'd be a little upset. It seems mine decided to use my name all over these "forums" of yours. Then again, he isn't exactly the most creative person in the world. I suppose choosing another name to have people use might have been a bit much for him.

Yeah. I don't know with him. Although, I don't normally use his name except for in the game. If people called me Ferrus out of game, it'd be a little bit weird to me I mean, even if I play him, he's not me.

Of course you aren't him. It would be a little silly for anybody to think you were.

If you're using a computer keyboard, most will produce the symbol if you press the ALT key and enter [ alt code he googled ] on the number pad. Otherwise, you can just use o. It works just as well.

Yeah. I mean, I am. Tehnically. But. With all this stuff about him becoming his own person. That won't be true for much longer, will it?

[ You can only disbelieve for so long. He got his leg healed by clerics, and he's... willing to believe in it. For now. ]

Probably not. It seems like we all have our strings cut one way or the other. His will be sooner or later, I'd imagine.

True. You could just select it and paste it, if whatever you're using supports that. Most portable electronics support stuff like that if you hold down the 'o' button, too. It'll show you a list.

Probably. I'm hoping he doesn't react badly to my existence. But maybe that's hoping for a bit much.

It depends on the kind of person he is, sweetie. One of my friends was rather upset when he found out.

Select it, 'copy' it, and 'paste' it. You make a copy of the text and put it somewhere else. Most tech these days can at least do that.

Yeah. I guess I have to wait and see, but. I don't want him to have to deal with realizing that his life was written by someone else without someone to help him if he needs it.
