Yeah. I wasn't anywhere near it, thankfully, but I know a few people who were. One of them is d [No, Eileen, Chisaki probably doesn't care that a few people were killed in there] Our guild leader and the Vahishta are still inside Bastan.

I think so. If they were dead, Aerveas would probably be broadcasting it or something. He's pretty vocal about his dislike of people like us, so if he was able to kill a guild leader who was also an Earther, can you imagine how thrilled he would be? I mean, he showed up at the tournament in person just because he had the chance to fight the Ahura.

Yeah. They are.

Speaking of the tournament, you did really well.

Not any crazier than all of us thinking the Ahura before this one was some random guy in costume who died in an alley before we knew he was the real thing.

You deserved to! You were really good.

It isn't that crazy. People dressed up as their characters or some of the original guild leaders before. Besides, he died while a Zenderael meet-up was happening at my friend's cafe. For all anybody knew, he was going to that.

To be fair, at the time, no one knew Zenderael was real. We just thought it was a game. It's only been kind of recently that we realized it was more than that. Besides, you know how skeptical people back home can be. Most of them are "if I can see it and I can touch it, then it's real" kinds of people. Even when there were Zen monsters running around, most people were thinking they were some weird genetic experiments that got loose or something.

I almost didn't believe it, either, until a friend of mine showed me a picture she took of a Saftan swamp-drake tearing her cafe apart. She isn't really the kind of person who would photoshop something like that just for attention.
