Yup, plenty. There's another Spellsword here named Nadir and we've had tonnes of adventures together. Like the time we had to fight off five manaeaters with two Spellswords and a couple of blokes with guns.

Would you believe I was being impersonated by an eighteen year old earth girl throughout our entire acquaintance? Or written by, created by, whatever you prefer. So -- yes! I know about it. In fact, it was hearing about your troubles that helped me to figure out what was happening at all.

Although that was Nix, actually, who heard about them from you. I suppose she was pretending not to understand you at the time, since I wouldn't have understood. It's a little confusing to try to think about it. Have you met Nix? She's my creator.

Yeah, I've met mine. His name's Duncan but he goes by Heimdall, he's a bit disappointing but we get on all right. So to answer your question, yup I sure do believe it. Haven't met anyone named Nix yet though.

Well, it's a little hard getting information across worlds, I guess I misunderstood something. I've met Heimdall on this side, and his sister, too, but they both speak to me using people they've created, which is positively unnerving.

I've been getting bits and pieces about earth from everywhere -- we have all sorts of visitors coming along with large buildings and statues now because the worlds seem to be combining. Is Fall City having land collapses? Someone said that it was. Parts of Bastan have been collapsing on this side.

I can absolutely send some food. Any favorite dishes? I can make you try my cooking! (That isn't as ominous as it sounds)

Ouch, can't imagine. Must be downright surreal. I've met his sister too, Missie? She's sweet. Bit dim, but sweet.

Yeah, southwest Fall City was in a tizzy over earthquakes and shite, but then Bastan showed up there. Was it happening in Bastan too at the time? Seems to have settled down now, though.

I wasn't in Bastan when the earthquakes and collapses happened, but it seems like it must have worked out like that. Has earth inherited a lot of people from Bastan then? Alive?

I'll check what the recipe calls for and send some over tomorrow evening.

What is he like?

In person, you mean? Mid-20's, beanpole, kind of cute but, like, in a little brother sort of way. Worries a lot, always seems stressed out or busy with something. Got a temper on him, too. Blows up, shouts at you for a bit, then feels bad and says he didn't mean it.

He can be hard to get along with. Real good at saying dumb shite and regretting it once it's out of his mouth. It's a laugh, really.

He's nice, though. Cares an awful lot, it's why he worries so much.

At first I was livid about the whole thing, but he explained it to me like this: writing a story about characters who don't have anything bad happen to them just isn't very interesting. So, to make me a more interesting person, he gave me hardships to overcome.

When you put it like that, it makes a lot of sense. I mean, he gave me a shitty life, I won't sugarcoat it. But in the end, I'm a better person for having those experiences.

I wouldn't be who I am without those experiences, either. If I'd lived an idyllic life, who's to say how I'd have turned out? But it'd be a different Marlene, and I'm happy as the Marlene I am, so I wouldn't change anything he gave me.

[Well...maybe one thing... But even then, it's part of who she is.]

So I don't hold it against him. He was just writing a character whose head he wanted to spend some time in, and if I was good enough for somebody to want to experience me like that, then I'm satisfied.
