[Dragon Mail: Ezra Amos]
I spoke to the Asha.
Whatever research he tried to do didn't sit well with him. He seems convinced he's going to die.
He refused protection.
[Dragon Mail: Reilanin]
I met with the Asha.
I'm sorry. I wasn't able to find out anything more about your connection to him.
[Dragon Mail: Jordan Hayes]
Got to see the Asha last night.
You know how they say mages can lose their minds...?

So he's just asking for it, then?... whatever he's seen makes him pretty sure? I don't think I need to tell you I don't like that, but... I don't like that.
no subject
But admittedly no. Never met him before this.
He still had research to do, he just... seems to think it's going to happen. I don't think he means the greycloaks.
no subject
So... so what do we do with a crazy mage as a colleague? What is he like? I've never really paid much attention to mages...
Not the greycloaks?
no subject
He insisted whatever it was, I couldn't protect him from it. Greycloaks may have a good record, but they're still human, you know?
no subject
I wonder if the Vahishta's spoken to him since... I wonder if he knows? But minds... that's not really something a cleric can deal with. [if that were the case, he'd gladly do what he could to turn him to Ravindra, but since it's not...]
Well, I hope they are. We've never met one.
no subject
But there it's not like he set his lab on fire. Best we can do is hope he doesn't reach that point.
I have.
They're human.

2. What the hell do you mean you have.
You got some 'splainin' to do.

I don't think he understood what I was asking.

He's mad, you mean.
no subject
Yes.
no subject
Why?
no subject
Maybe he didn't like what he saw.

[why is she surprised? she's been able to examine things that should be impossible, and yet she's treated them as natural
but her mind keeps going back to that journal and what it might mean...]
Yes... it isn't simply myth, what they say of mages. The greatest of them are also the most far removed from reality. It is questionable if they can even tell the difference anymore. Luckily, they are few and far between.
[it shouldn't upset her as much as it does, either. surely, upas can find something, but she'd been hoping on Rhys for something...
what if she went herself?...]
I wonder how many others there are...
no subject
And maybe there are still answers, if he knew how to express them.
I'm sorry I couldn't get them for you.
Other what?

Do you know what was he doing to have lost his mind now instead of earlier?
no subject
Last I heard, he planned to research this merge thing. It started with Bastan going missing, but I don't know if he was looking into how, why, or if he could summon Bastan back.
no subject
Maybe the Asha was able to see what's happening, or have enough of the parts to be able to string the whole picture together. I can't imagine it was what he saw that drove him mad, though. He's the Asha. He would have seen so much already.
no subject
If we could imagine it, we'd probably go as mad as he did.

Pictures of Bastantown.
Return it, of course.

Thanks.
It's good to see it safe. For the most part.
